Speech No.1: Speech on Friendship

  • Speaker: School And College Student, Teacher
  • Audience: Students, Teachers, General Public

Good Morning to one and all present here. I am going to give a speech about friendship.

Do u ever think about what you would have been without your friends?? Isn’t it interesting that we are not born with friends but when we die we have different bonds with friends?

Woodrow Wilson once said, “Friendship is the only cement that will ever hold the world together.”

Let me make it simple — as u know what is the use of cement? it holds the bricks together for any building means it is the foundation of the building and holds it tightly and makes it strong. But did you ever realize the importance of friendship is the same in our life?

We don’t have any control over our parents, our genetic makeup, or the happenings that take place in the world around us. Friendship is precious because it allows us to connect with individuals who share our values or interests.

Throughout the lifespan, there is an ongoing correlation between social support and physical as well as mental well-being, and one essential source of support is our friends.

Friendship ends our biases. We don’t distinguish on the terms of religion, status, caste, etc while making the bond. Our mythology also has such examples as in the friendship of the lord Krishna and Sudama. We can realize how pure this bond is.

Have you ever wondered how in today’s modern era where many people are introverted and who do not like to socialize? Do you ever realize the role of social media in this case? Let me tell you one case where some Instagram user posted a photograph from her school and just wanted to find out one of her childhood friends but you know what happened to the particular reel that went viral and guess what she got her friend this way. Isn’t it cute? This is what social media does. It allows you to build strong connections and now you can share everything and anything with them. Apart from this, you can stay connected with your old friends too without fearing the physical distance between both.

But then how did we come to lose friendship? You all must have heard that school is the only place where you will find the best friends or circle of your life because over time it becomes a type of selfish relationship that’s why most of you don’t consider your peers from college your friends.

We only consider a person’s positive traits when we first become friends, but as time goes on, we become sensitive to a person’s negative traits and end up severing our friendship with them. A solid friendship is one in which we are able to recognize our friends’ strengths and weaknesses and support their mutual growth. It is only natural to be there for them during their difficult times and share their sorrows and complaints if you enjoy making jokes and having fun with them.

Finally, I’d like to point out how tough it is to find a good friend.  All we need for a happy life are friends. Everyone benefits from enduring relationships.

Thank You.
